Creating and loading job templates
Functionality description
There are two types of templates: Task template and Process template.
Please Note: The visibility of elements connected with templates depends on the setting of the permission: "Allow to display task templates page".
- Task template
This functionality consists of saving the whole task (with the group of locations, cycles, time parameters, vacations and the task process) as a template, which can be uploaded to a new task. Each upload of a template applies a group of settings as specific to that task.
- Process template
This functionality saves only the task process (process path, individual command settings) as a template that can be uploaded to the task. In this case the user creates the whole task by themselves and uploads the ready template only in the Task Generator.
Please Note: The template used in, for example, ten tasks, is not connected with each task, each task is an independent task. To clarify, editing a template does not change the ten tasks - they are not synchronised.
How to create a new template?
Template from a task
If you would like the task to be saved as a template, go to edit this task (all tasks -> pencil icon). In the General Settings -> Advanced Settings view there is a blue button named "Save task as template".
This button launches the 'Save Template' window. The User can create a new template or overwrite the existing one.
1.You can enter a name for the new template in the window or search for an existing template that you wish to overwrite.
2.Save the template with the green button.
After saving the new template, the user will be transferred to the list of templates.
Please Note: If the template is not visible on the list of templates, refresh the page.
- A template from a process
If you require to save the process from the task as a template, enter the Process Generator. In the upper-left corner there is a button named "New Template".
This button launches the 'Template Saving' window. The user can create a new template or overwrite the existing one.
Please Note: The only way to edit the existing template is to overwrite it.
1. Enter the name of the new template in the window.
2. Save/overwrite the template with the green button.
Please Note: The process must be complete before creating the template. There is a validation for the connection of the commands "Start" and "End". If there is no connection between the commands, it will not be possible to save the template from the process.
How to load an existing template to the task?
If you wish to use a template from a task, enter the window of creating new task.
All tasks -> New task
In the Advanced Settings of the new task there is a button named "Select task from template".
After choosing this button a window with the possibility of choosing a template will open.
1. In the window you should enter the name of the template which you would like to load into the task.
2.Confirm the selected template with the green 'tick' button.
3. After approval the template will be loaded.
Please Note: The task users are not saved in the templates.
- Template from the process
After completing the basic information about the task as well as the task parameters and users, go to the Task Generator. In order to upload a template from the process, press the "Process from template" button, available in the upper-left corner of the Generator.
A window allowing to choose a template will open.
1. In the window, enter the name of the template, which you wish to load into the Generator.
2.Confirm the selected template by ticking the box next to the name.
3. After approving the template with the green 'tick' button the process will be loaded.
Please Note: If there was already a process in the generator, it will be deleted.
How to edit an existing template?
Task template
Example: A user created a task template based on a task named: "Task for Manager". After a few months of using the template, it turned out that there is a need to change the counter for one item in the task parameters. The user does not want to change the parameter after every template upload, they prefer to make this edit in the template.
Solution: The only way to edit the template is to overwrite it. To do that, go to edit the original task on the basis of which the template was created (or the task in which the template was used). Then introduce changes and save the task.
If the task has been edited and looks the way the template should look like then press the "Save task as template" button, available in the Advanced Task Settings.
A window will open, allowing to overwrite the template settings:
1. Here you need to search for the template that you wish to edit.
2. After searching for the template, confirm with the green 'tick' button.
3. Save the changes using the button "Save and create task".
{Editing a process template operates in a similar way}
