Fuel Price ranges

For precise price recognition, the image recognition system (RTR) and artificial intelligence (AI) 'rationalise' the recognised prices. The rationalisation consists of checking whether the daily change of fuel prices is within a certain price range.

Example 1:
The price range for fuel in Poland is set at 0,15PLN. On 1st January the system correctly recognised the price of unleaded petrol as 5,00PLN. The system foresees that on 2nd January the price of unleaded petrol will be in the range from 4,85PLN-5,15PLN. If the price recognised on 2nd January does not fit within this range then the system will report an error.
It is very important to choose the right offset (margin). If the margin is too narrow or too wide the system will report an error all the time.
Example 2:
The price range for fuels in Poland was set at 5,00PLN. On 1st January the system correctly recognised the price of unleaded petrol as 4,95PLN. On 2nd January the price of fuel did not change. However, due to bad weather and an unclear picture, the system recognised the price as 1,95PLN. Due to a margin set too wide - the wrong price was accepted.
The margin of the price range is configurable and can be set from the system administrator console.
