Ways of mobile app distribution
The TakeTask mobile app supports various distribution channels, depending on the customer's preferences. iOS and Android systems are supported, and the distribution methods differ a little between the two systems.
For the Android system the following options are supported:
- Placing the app in the Play Store - the app will be available in a convenient way at all times in the Play Store. However, it should be taken into consideration that everyone will be able to download it, and the verification of updates by Google may slow down the patches.
- Placing the application in the App Centre - the app will be available for download only for those who received an invitation to the App Centre.
- Providing .apk files of the TakeTask application for company use - it is possible to share installation files for your own distribution. The company may then configure the phones on its own, send files to its employees or install it in bulk on company phones using the EMM/MDM system.
The following options are supported for iOS:
- Placing the application in the App Store - The app will be available at all times in a convenient way in the App Store. However, it should be remembered that everyone will be able to download it, and the verification of updates by Apple may slow down the patches.
- Placing the application in the App Centre - The app will be available for download only for people who have received an invitation to the App Centre.
- Providing .ipa files of the TakeTask application for company use - it is possible to share installation files for your own distribution. An Apple-certified company that allows distribution of the app can then configure the phones on its own, send files to its employees or install it en masse on company phones using the EMM/MDM system.
Please note that all forms of distribution support Android from version 6.0 and iOS from version 10.
